At least two Ryan's buffet restaurant locations in the Grand Strand have closed because of its parent company's plans to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

My friend got no notice. Showed up to work to see the paper on the door. Terrible way to do business. Will never eat at one of their joints again.

"My friend got no notice."

There is no excuse for treatment like that! I am so sorry to hear this happened to your friend!

I feel nostalgic about the closings. We have not been there for several years, but when we lived in Southwood we could practically walk to Ryan's and we went there often. After we moved to the Market Common area (2009) we only went there once or twice. But I always liked their salads and used to make a meal of them. Good memories.

I miss our Ryan's. You couldn't beat their salad bar at the lunch price. We would occasionaly eat at the one in Surfside while vacationg since your has been closed for about 5 or so years.
