For most of our past trips we would pick up the condo keys from a rental office in the Galleria Shopping Center. On occasions where the condo was not ready we regularly would pass the time with a late lunch at Finn McCool's.

This year we have used a different rental office which is located just south of Broadway at the Beach on 21st Ave N. This brings me to my question: If we are faced with a wait for the condo, what lunch options are in the area that aren't the major Broadway at the Beach restaurants? Looking at the map I see places like Bummz, and Diry Dons Oyster Bar and Grill that may be what we are looking for. Does anyone else have any suggestions for a causal lunch option surrounding the Broadway at the Beach area where one could also have a cold beer after a long drive into the beach?

Mellow Mushroom would be an option as well.

WE LEAVE IN 16 DAYS!

Mellow Mushroom is always good.

Also, you won't be far from Coastal Grand Mall which is surrounded by plenty of restaurants....Logan's, Burger King, Red Robin, Sticky Fingers, Longhorn, Red Lobster....and I'm sure more I can't remember.

If you're on 21st, might I suggest heading east to River City Cafe. It's a marvelous setting for lunch!

I'm with Phroggy. As soon as I read that you'll be at 21st I thought of River City. That's always one of our first stops anyway. You can definitely grab a cold a beer and a burger. Bummz is hit or miss with food, in my experience. But it is a great place to grab drinks if you can get a spot out back because that's right on the beach and would be great to spend some time on the beach when you first arrive. Dirty Don's is right there beside River City and would also be great if you're hungry. Those are all great options. :sunny:

3rd vote for River City. I really like this location. They have several picnic tables outside under a covered deck. It's pretty neat!

Also have SOHO right there on 21st if you are into sushi or Asian cuisine.

River City looks like what I was looking for.

Thanks.

We do River City. It is convenient for us staying at the Breakers.

Totally agree with Pillsbury Ninja on Dirty Don's on 21st Ave. North. Nothing better than a pound of cold boiled
shrimp, a crispy iceburg lettuce salad, and a ice cold Bud Light to put you in a beach mood.

I guess it will depend on the kind of food you want. I would have said River City, but Dirty Don's looks good too!
