How many people that are part of this forum listen to 94.9 The Surf?

When I come to the beach, if I'm not listening to music from my ipod, I ONLY have it on this station. I am a beach music baby, listening to it when growing up in the early 1970's. My parents loved to shag and we had all the big name bands albums, especially The Embers, when Jackie Gore was with them.

I live in Winston-Salem, NC, and we used to have a beach music radio station out of Salisbury, NC, 106.5. It finally lost out and was bought by a company that changed the format to modern rock music, and then, no more beach music except for my CD's. When I found 94.9, then found out I could stream it over the internet, that was great. I'm actually listening to it right now! I remember when it went off the air a few years ago, then by a miracle, got things worked out and was back!

I just hope that it will always get the listeners to keep it going forever.

Dave, aka, Mr. Beach

When in Myrtle Beach we have this channel playing all the time. Great music.

I can make you smile... I have one radio channel in my car permanently set on 94.9  . It never changes and we live in New York. It's my way of keeping the beach alive always. When we get down towards NMB and the station starts coming in, we know we are home!

Love that station!!

As I type this, I'm listening to beach music on Pandora :) That's always my go-to when I need a beach fix. Didn't realize you could stream that station online.
