I'm sure someone here can tell me when I will be able to search online and make reservations for 2015? Will it be sometime this year, or does it start at the beginning of the year?

Hubby and I are trying SUPER hard to make it there in end of May/Early june for 3 nights with our daughter who will be almost a year old. I'm trying to see how expensive it will be and how much we need to save, as we are also going to Disney is September 2015.

I sure hope we can make it happen! I missed MB SOOOO much this year. :sunny:

Rates may not be online but you should be able to phone them to get the rate or at least a ballpark to plan your budget.

Thank you!! I'm not sure I want to call anyone yet becasue i'm not sure where I want to stay.. I like to price things out and I don't want to get pressured into making a reservation! LOL.

I could always just say no, but I might wait a little longer. I just need a place that has nice kiddie ammenitites with the pools. it's going to be all about the little one!

I normally can't begin getting the rates for July until January.

I see that A LOT of hotels, resorts and even the VRBO folks are posting rates for next year already. It used to be late December before they'd post but over the last several years, they've been posting earlier and earlier trying to out-do each other. My advice is to wait until at least mid February if you're booking directly through the hotel or resort. They generally run some specials around that time.

There are positive and negatives to booking through the hotel vs the owner. You can usually find better rates through the owner and you can see the actual room through pictures. Sometimes through the owner, you don't get to use all the amenities, so check on that. Booking through the hotel you have the benefit of having the cleaning crew and staff at your fingertips.

I've read some stories about people being denied access to the pools and hotel features because the owner won't pay the hotel the monthly access fee they charge (what ever its called). I personally prefer to pay the extra and stay through the hotel. I also have posted many pictures (even on trip advisor) so you can see the real rooms.

You can often save money by booking directly with an owner and bypassing the rental fees, but you need to have your list of questions ready well in advance. Specifically: pools, health fitness pass, phone in room, breakfast if in a resort where one is usually included, washer/dryer, eating utensils, cooking necessities, etc. Ask the owners provide photos, too. Nobody wants surprises on their vacation!

Thanks everyone! I will probably just stick to the Hotel for reservations. We are going specifically for the ammenities! We are thinknig pretty hard about Compass Cove. It seems to get pretty great reviews!

I've looked at the listings on the VRBO web site (I'm sure there are others) and find the listings very good and clear. Usually lots of pictures and descriptions. The best part I think are the reviews. This is where you can read about glitches and surprises that people have encountered. It is impressive that most reviews are positive and looks like most owners are clear and upfront about their units and their rental terms. Looks like many already have 2015 rates but all listings have owner contact info for questions.
