Maybe one of the locals can help me? How is the construction situation on 17 bypass around the Market Common area right now? Seems like that area all the way to BATB has been a mess for a number of years now. I mostly try to avoid it, but it would be the fastest route to some attractions if the construction issues would ever end.

They really need to take the word bypass off this area considering that the majority of growth occurs on these things. To me a bypass should be a road to take you around all the mess not into it. I guess HWY 31 is the new "bypass" in the area.

Yes 31 is the bypass for the bypass.

17 at the back gate is still congested, but it is not that bad, by this time next year it will be a breeze to get past there, the back will be at Glens Bay Rd then :)

We call it "the 5 minute light." It used to be 4 minutes. Believe me, I arrive at that light almost every day and I have nothing better to do than time the light or read the bumper stickers on the car ahead of me. If you can get through that light without stopping or not long after it changes the rest is not bad. You have to be careful in that intersection because they are still moving the road patterns around. Recently on 2 different occasions, I've seen cars get in the wrong lane. Lucky neither got hit, but most people are going very slowly through there.

If you are going straight N to S or S to N (not wanting to turn into Farrow Pkwy. to get to the Market Common) you should not have any problems. Except the 5 minute light, of course! :clown:

That 5 minute light is where all the backup starts. If you end up having to sit through two of them it makes for a long trip. I guess I will once again just take business 17 and jump on Robert Grissom Pky when I get into MB.
