If so, please help the good folks at Coastal Carolina and the Grand Strand Cycling Community Group by taking this short survey!

I have never cycled in Myrtle Beach, but since I started cycling just after our trip last year, I filled out the survey.

Just bought a new bike and rode it for it's maiden ride on Monday. I plan to haul it down and ride next time I am in Myrtle.

For the record, a bike lane is probably the least safest place to ride a bike. In the city, bike lanes more often than not put you directly into the door zone of parked cars opening their doors which can be very deadly. Also, the bike lane most places are also the right turn lane for motorized vehicle traffic and drivers of motor vehicles often perform what is known as the "right hook" where they pass a cyclist and then immediately cut in front of them to turn right not realizing they are cutting a cyclist off.

As it is a new found love for exploration, a hobby, and for exercise for myself, please be careful out there of cyclists on the road. They do have every right to be on the roads in the lane just as any other vehicle and more and more are appearing out on the roads.

I rode mine ONCE in 2011. It was REALLY scary riding in the bike lane, so we strapped the bikes back to the car and didn't ride again for the rest of the week. No thanks!

It doesn't appear to be too safe to bike in the Myrtle area. I see the bike lanes on Ocean Blvd but have to wonder if anyone actually uses them after 8AM.
