We have been to Myrtle for many years for vacation. Typically we usually eat at more of the chain restaurants, Joes Crab Shack, Margarittaville etc. We are looking to try more local restaurants this year, and in particular, local seafood. So my question is, what is your all's opinion about where to get the best local seafood including good oysters? Thanks in advance.

Probably depends where you stay and which is closer.
North end. Restaurant Row- North Myrtle.
Our 1st choice is always Duffy Street.
2nd choice would be Crab Catcher's in Little River.

We really like the Noizy Oyster on the corner of Kings Hwy. and 1st street. The crab cakes are killer!

I agree with Alan...it depends on where you're staying and how much driving you want to do. On the south end, we like:

Bubba's Fish Shack, Surfside Beach

Litchfield Beach Fish House

Captain John's Seafood Grill, Pawleys Island

Salt Creek Cafe, Murrells Inlet

Yes, I know this is a chain, but their seafood is very good and we eat here often and have never been disappointed with their fish specialities:
Bonefish Grille

Carolina Dreaming and California Roadhouse

Yes it does depend upon where you are staying, for there are many very good places all over the area and there is no need to drive 20 or 40 miles just to eat good food.

You have some good suggestions already mentioned and if you say where your staying, you may get some more :)

Sea Captain's? The first time in MB we went there. It's probably viewed as a tourist trap, but it does have good food. Expensive, but good.
