I seem to remember reading not too long ago about a pier that had a viewing "platform" or glassed in bottom that allowed one to look under the pier and watch the fish like sharks, etc. the pier was also lit up at night. I think it was a $1 to enter the pier. Anyone out there know what i am referring to and can let me know. I would love to check it out
Today, we were at the Garden City pier and saw a large school of stingrays swimming about..

(we are now here for a blessed 2 relaxing weeks).

I have not heard about this and a google search is not bringing up information. Maybe it is something new! Can you remember where you saw it? (Newspaper, internet search, radio, etc.)

It's a cool idea, but I'm sure it would require constant cleaning, since all the piers are fishing piers and attract pelicans, gulls, pigeons flopping fish, whatever. If they are incorporating this into their regular $1. walking fee, I'd love to see it too!

The pier at Garden City Beach is the only one left that does not charge a $1. fee to walk (or to park, for that matter.) Glad you're having a great time.

I swear i remember reading it on this forum. The only other MB forum i read is the Trip Advisor forum but a search there did not turn it up. I am stumped. I dont think i dreamed it up.

We stayed at Garden City a few years back. Short walk to the pier from condo. The pier had live band every night.
They had the bottom of the pier lit up at night and it attracted fish of all kinds. Looking over the rails you could see rays and sharks clear as day in the lights.
I might have written something about that in trip report. There wasn't any kind of glass bottom. Just the lights.
Haven't been there since. Not sure if it's still lit up at night or not.

That makes sense, Alan!

Or it could be UFOs with a glass bottom on their abduction ship. :nanner:
