Well it works, but it is very picky with the URL you use. Hit the youtube button. Then put the URL inbetween. It must look like the above URL. Nothing else will work. So make sure you use the preview button to look at your post before you post it.

I will keep working on it and keep you posted. There has to be something easier.

I'm not nearly computer savvy enough to weigh in on this technical stuff, but as for the songs that make me dream of Myrtle Beach, Clifford Curry's "Beach Music and Barbecue" and " Baby Won't You Shag With Me" are worth a mention. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=XjNKrokglAI

Danny Woods and the Chairmen singing " Down at the Beach Club" takes me to Fat Harold's in my mind.

" its a drag if you cant shag "

You MUST get up and dance to King Tyrone, aka Jim Quick, singing "Momma's Drinking Liquor Again" ( Im not sure but I think that might be a SC law)

But since Jodie just made reservations for us to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this coming May at our most favorite place in the world, Ive been thinking about shagging the night away to The Platters' classic "With This Ring"

If youre thinking about summertime and you've got "Beach Fever" in your bones this song is about you.

Its especially appropriate for THIS weekend.

We've Got Beaches In Mind.....

The Beach Boys have a new album, "That's Why God Made the Radio." All new material, released to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

Daddy-O, it's hip and groovy. Can you dig it? :clown:

"We got beaches in mind,
Man, it's been too much time
Not a care in the world is where I wanna be."

The link only takes you to the music, so I won't link it. But you can listen here:

Thanks Patrish - great find ! Can't wait to give it a full listen :nanner:

Thread hijack for some Beach Boys music trivia...... All us old-timers remember the blazing guitar intro to "Fun Fun Fun"... (Fun fun fun til her daddy takes the t-bird away)

That's not a Beach Boy playing guitar.... it's actually Glen Campbell ! He even replaced Brian Wilson during their tour when Brian had "issues" in 1965 and couldn't go on stage.

Glen Campbell was an incredible session musician, meaning he played on many artist's records but was rarely a credited member of the bands he played with. He played for Elvis Presley, The Monkees, Mammas and the Papas, Dean Martin, Frank and Nancy Sinatra, Jan & Dean, the Righteous Brothers plus many others. (and you thought the Monkees were the only band that didn't play their own instruments) :hysterical:

Had front row tickets to see Glen many years ago, but he cancelled his tour due to drinking problems. Amazing musician, but did he ever write a song about the beach ?!? Can't find one.....

"By the time I get to Myrtle, she'll be rising"..... naw, not the same ring to it.

Great info. Thanks! I was not aware that Glen Campbell had such a broad background. I always enjoyed his music.
