Well, being th board is quiet this time of the year, but beach season is around the corner,I figured that we could have a little fun.

What song, when you hear it,makes you think of Myrtle Beach? If you have multiple, put one at a time,so the topic continues.
Maybe somebody could even use this topic to download some nice music.

I'd have to say for me,one that ALWAYS reminds me of Myrtle Beach is....

Bama Breeze by Jimmy Buffett

Good idea, RonPxRonp!

A song that always makes me dream of Myrtle Beach is "I Heard It Through the Grapevine", cuz it is so happy! :wav:

It's 5'oclock somewhere -Alan Jackson

I have some core songs on my iPod that get me in beach mood. Drive very early morning down to the beach and I listen to these type songs the whole way. Just play the radio most of the year, so I look forward to my iPod play list. Just part of the beach routine I guess.

Great ones above... for me, its' Anything But Mine performed by Kenny Chesney:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6c8a90PWIM

Took Kelly to the Brothers of the Sun tour last year... one of our last hurrahs before she headed off for her freshman year. FedEx Field erupted when the opening chords started.

If this aint Mytle Beach, nuttin' is....

Quote:
You can hear the cries from the carnival rides,
The pinball bills, skee ball slides,
Watching the summer sun fall out of sight,
There's a warm wind coming in from off of the ocean
Making it's way past the hotel walls to fill the streets
Mary is holding both of her shoes in her hands
Said she likes to feel the sand beneath her feet

Also, Ocean Blvd. Just fun, summery, and nostalgic :sunny:

"Toes" By Zac Brown Band !! My mom made two CD's last year ALL about summer/beach. Every time I hear that song, I think about our amazing vacation!

Also, "Myrtle Beach Days" because it was on our CD too!

Well, Emmy and myrtle beachcomer listed some of my all-time favorites! Great songs! But then again, there's always "Summertime's Calling Me" by the Catalinas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSOod2p-Xtg, "I Love Beach Music" by The Embers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4sn9Jo-rNg and of course, "Carolina Girls" by General Johnson & the Charimen of the Board http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgkO7XGUJyA (R.I.P. I can't possibly be the only one who jams to Bob Marley!!!!!!!! So dear to my heart is he that I named my dog after him. If you're not familiar with quite possibly the greatest artist of all time, youtube the song "Three Little Birds". Cheers!!!

I got a feeling by Black eye peas
First year I was there with the whole family it was playing every time we entered a souvenir shop. It became our Myrtle Beach song

Have several but none of them have a thing to do with the beach. Just songs that were popular during certain trips and hearing them takes me back to those moments.

Grand Funk Railroad. Can't remember the album(tape)........Was 1974 maybe.....Eight guy road trip and we took a stereo with us. Grand Funk 8-track tape plugged in as soon as we hit the room. Played 24/7 the entire week.......Hear Grand Funk today it takes me back to bed full of sand, baloney sandwiches and Stroh's beer.......

End of week. Leaving the beach heading out RT 501......Sitting in back of my van in bean bag chair while somebody else drove....(not what you might be thinking....Time to go I was standing on wrong side of van....That's just the way we were back then)...........Doors tied open watching the beach disappear behind us......Slower cuts of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon.......Anytime I hear those cuts I think of Rt 501.......

Following year.....Another guy road trip.....Fast ride at Pavillion.....Himilayian(sp?)maybe.....Hue's Corporation Rock The Boat........Over and over and over..........I hear it today I think of the Pavilion........

Last one that comes to mind......1986......First vacation in several years....Last minute take what ever was available.....Worst house we've ever stayed in but it was maybe best beach trip of my life.........People next door had radio playing all day......Simply Red's Turn Back The Years played at least once an hour.......Can't remember last time I've heard the song but if and when I do.....I'll be seeing Cherry Grove 1986.......

Last year it seemed like the souvenir shops were all playing "You Don't Know You're Beautiful" by One Direction. It got to the point where we would just laugh when it came on.

Now that song really does bring up good memories.

"Carolina Girls" by General Johnson and the Chairmen always makes me think of Myrtle Beach. Its hard to top the bumper-sticker-worthy lyrics like: "sweeter than candy; hotter than heat; more precious than diamonds, girl you cant be beat"

Of course Billy Ward and the Dominoes singing "Sixty Minute Man" will get us on the dance floor whenever its played.

But its not summer until youve been shagging at OD to the Tymes singing Miss Grace.
