Any locals have any recommendations for some of the places on the restaurant.com site ? Since we are going to be down for 13 days this summer we are really going to have to take advantage of coupons. Anyone else that has eaten at any of these places feel free to throw in some recommendations.

I saw Bistro 90 is on their list now. This is REALLY really good Italian food. We highly recommend them!

This has nothing to do with restaurant.com, but more of just a general money saving thing.

Check out the restaurants website. I've seen that some have their specials posted and even have coupons. The coupons are sometimes even better then what they are in the books, if they are even in the books. Also check the facebook pages as some have daily specials posted along with their menu. I haven't see many that have coupons tho.

Thanks for all the replies. Getting ready to order some right now. I think "beads" is the savings code right now. I will try some of the recommendations , and if anyone else has any more feel free to share them.

MBKY the wife and I used the coupons last fall at Big Daddy's Roadhouse Grill and at Goodfellas Seafood Hut and Bar we really liked both places. Here are the web sites for both places. http://theseafoodhut.com/ http://www.bigdaddysroadhousegrill.com/
We also used them at Gauchao Brazilian Steakhouse and Big KT's BBQ Shack we both weren't too crazy about either of those two.

I have to feed six every place that we eat  . No problem covering the minimum amount. I probably wouldn't purchase any of these unless the promo code worked. They are really good deals though when you are getting a $25 certificate for $2.

There are still some good certificates on restaurant.com, but make sure you read and understand the requirements such as minimum purchase amounts. As others have mentioned, this varies by restaurant.

Also, ask about the liquor/wine before you order, even if the coupon says not valid on alcohol. After asking, we have sometimes been told the coupon is good on anything you want to order.

(You should get in the habit of asking about coupons/discounts anywhere you go...restaurants, shows, accommodations...anything. Because if you don't ask, the answer is always no, LOL!)

Sometimes the requirement to spend so many dollars it means way more food than Wally and I can eat at one sitting. But if it's something we can take home and eat the next day, then it usually works or us.

Well Patrish, I will have to TRY TBones...the blackened ribeye steaks 2 years ago were awesome! Ribs always good, not GREAT, GREAT but good. Ribs need a Corkys sauce! Will try and report on it after our visit.

BTW, good to see you on this fine board still after many years. Hope all is well with you and Wally..

Thanks Patrish. I really value the opinions of locals. Some of these restaurant.com coupons are great values. A whole lot of places that are unheard of, so it makes the selection hard. Thanks for the input

yes, so do I! you guys eat locally all the time, and the rest of us don't, so yes, I among lots of others really do value yours and other locals opinions.

Does anyone know if Restaurant.com still has discount codes? I used to get them by email but I haven't gotten them in a while. Thanks!

Hi, Dawne! Good to see you!

You can sign up for restaurant.com here:

http://www2.restaurant.com/info/home/signup

The have expanded their services a lot (such as New York Broadways shows) but they still offer local savings.
