I had a PM asking about Irma's path that they thought might be upsetting as a general post.

We are not sure what we will do. Emmy and Paul are at their home in Longs, and we're having a Pre-Irma Dinner Celebration...probably pizza in The Market Common. As of right now, were both planning to leave Sunday if Irma stays on her current path.

Wally and I evacuated for Floyd and I swore then I would NEVER EVER evacuate again. It was h*** grtting out, and worse h*** getting back home. But if this one is as bad as they say, I might have to change my mind. :dontknow:

More later!

It must be a hard decision on whether to leave or stay. We are currently concerned about friends and relatives in Florida. We also have our friends in Myrtle Beach in our thoughts. Irma is looking pretty scary. Stay safe!

We did see Emmy and Paul, but for a short time. They were still undecided about leaving, but do plan to leave soon.

Yes, it is a difficult decision. :dontknow:

We are booked the 16th-23rd and boyfriend is worried our trip is ruined. (Pales in comparison to actual problems but this is the first trip in nearly a decade so he's disappointed)
We have travel insurance but it only covers if there is a mandatory evacuation while we are there.

Am I crazy that I think we'll still be able to make the best of it?

I've been looking at the pictures of destruction in the British and US Virgin Islands and its utterly amazing and scary the level of destruction. If this one doesn't change I would get out of Dodge. I'm calling my sister who lives in North Carolina and telling her the same thing tonight

Unless Irma says "Oops. I need to turn around....I forget about Myrtle"
...we are safe from a disaster.

We're feeling so sad, bad and worried for those who were and are still are evacuating. We have many family members and friends in Fl and I just can't imagine what they are going through right now.

Looks like you won't be disappointed! At least by Irma...

Hope you have a wonderful vacation. You've got less than a week!
