Casino boat headed back to Little River

A new casino boat is coming back to Little River, as soon as the owner picks up a business license and pays off some back taxes, said Horry County councilman Harold Worley.

"We have had discussions with those folks and we have worked through the issues we as a county have and we are in agreement to allow them a license if they do certain things," he said.

SunCruz Casinos, which operated a casino boat from Little River, stopped sailing abruptly on Dec. 15 and filed for bankruptcy later that month. The company was required to pay the county a $7 fee for every passenger who boards the boat and it owed the county more than $100,000 for October and an unknown amount for November.
