Myrtle Beach SC State Park and Huntington Beach State Park

The S.C. State Park Service offers a central reservation system.

S. C. State Park Service Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
You may book vacations that begin on March 1, and up to 11 months in advance.
You can also make online reservations 24/7 through the Official Tourism Website of South Carolina.
SC Annual Park Passports available at the State Parks: $50.00 ; Sr. Citizens, blind or disabled 1/2 price. Discounts for locals with driver license available at any Grand Strand Library


Myrtle Beach State Park - 4401 S. Kings Hwy. Myrtle Beach, SC
This oceanfront State Park includes a campground, cabins, nearly a mile of beach, picnic areas, and a fishing pier which sells bait and souvenirs, plus a snack bar. There's also a nature center and a nature trail. The forest has been declared a Heritage Trust Site.

Park hours 6 am - 10 pm daily. Admission: $4 for ages 16 and older, $1.50 for ages 6-15 and free for ages 5 and younger. S.C. residents 65 or older $2.50. Call 1-843-238-5325 for more information.

Do you want to camp at Myrtle Beach State Park?
The campground provides individual water and electrical hookups. All camping sites are convenient to hot showers, restrooms and laundromat facilities. The campground is located approximately 300 yards from the beach. The park store carries some grocery items, firewood, snacks and souvenirs.
Number of sites with electricity and water: 302 sites rent for $23-25 (not including tax or transaction fees.)
Number Designated tent sites: 45-site overflow campground is open June, July and August.
Overflow campsites for tent camping have access to central water (no electricity) for $17-19/site/night.
Cabins/Villas: (Rates shown do not include tax or transaction fees.) Five cabins and two apartments, located 200 yards from the beach, are completely furnished, heated, air-conditioned, and supplied with bath and bed linens, basic cooking and eating utensils and TV. Two-bedroom $79-99 (not including tax or transaction fees.) Three-bedroom nightly rate is $99- $124. One-bedroom apartment, which sleeps four, is $54-68. Two-bedroom apartment, which sleeps eight, is $79-99.

Huntington Beach State Park
Located in Murrells Inlet near Brookgreen Gardens. This oceanfront state park offers camping, fishing, coastal hiking trails and general access to three miles of remote beach. Huntington Beach State Park is also the site of the Spanish-style castle Atalaya, former winter home and studio of noted American sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington.

Park hours are 6 a.m.-10 p.m. daily. Ages 16 and older $5, ages 6-15 $3, ages 5 and younger free. S.C. residents ages 65 and older and S.C. disabled residents $3.25. Call 843-237-4440 or the education center at 843-235-8755 for more information.

Do you want to camp at Huntington Beach State Park?
Each camping site, excluding the designated tent sites, has water and electrical hookups and is convenient to hot showers and restrooms. Some sites have sewer hookups. There is also a walk-in tent site area which includes tent pads and central water. Discounts are available during off-season.

Number of sites with electricity, water and sewer: 24 sites rent for $25-28 (not including tax or transaction fees.)
Number Designated tent sites: 6 walk-in tent sites include tent pads. Rent $17-19 (not including tax or transaction fees.)
